And, we're off... a crazy weekend leading into a crazy week. Today is Dash's first day of school. He attends with half his class for half the time this week, so with 4 other children from 9-10:15. I've loaded the backpack with diapers, wipes and a change of clothes, and we've conversed regularly about how this is going to unfold. This morning's dialogue:
"So, Mama's going to drop you off at school, and you'll have fun playing with the other kids, and then Mama will come back and pick you up."
"Just like Petunia?" he asked.
"Yes, just like Petunia," I answered.
"And I'll play with Bob the Builder tools? And the kids won't cry?" [He's very worried about one "crier" in the class.]
"Nobody will cry [except maybe Mama in the hall], and you'll have lots of fun playing Bob the Builder. And then you might have snack!"
"Oh, wow... Mama, Big Men go to school," he announced.
Not so fast, little guy, not so fast.
